The Duluth Public Library welcomes Shawn Bernhardt, a local educator and mushroom-grower, to present a workshop on growing shiitake mushrooms at home. Bernhardt will demonstrate how to start a mushroom log, outline the supplies needed and speak on growing conditions and best harvesting practices. Participants will not receive a mushroom log from this event. Registration (required) and event details can be found on Facebook and the DPL event calendar.

English Paper Piecing is a method of hand sewing which enables quilting without a machine and taking projects on the go. Participants will learn how to sew a mat or coaster to take home. All fabric and notions are provided, but participants may bring their own materials (two fat quarters different fabric). Suitable for teens, adults and seniors.
