The UMD Volunteer Fair is an annual event for students to connect with diverse volunteering opportunities in the Duluth community. Representatives from dozens of local organizations table at the event to provide information and answer questions about their unique volunteer programs. The opportunities offered by the fair encompass a broad spectrum of fields, including childhood enrichment, animal care, environmental conservation, healthcare, the arts, faith-based service, outreach to underprivileged communities and much more.

The first Take Back the Night rally was held in Germany in 1973, in response to a series of sexual assaults, rapes and murders.
