The 17th annual Northeastern Mojakka Cook-Off will be held at the Historic Northeastern Hotel on Dunlap Island in Cloquet. To sign up for cooking a favorite soup and to enter the contest to win the People’s Choice medallion, participants should call Bert Whittington at 218-879-3312. Any kind of soup will be accepted. The 18th annual Mojakka Cook-off features a variety of soups and bread. Attendees can vote on their favorite. Prizes are awarded to soup champions at 3:30 p.m. Tickets are available in advance for $9 at the NorthEastern and Carlton County Historical Society, or $10 at the door.
