The second annual Bridging the Gap Women’s 10-mile event takes all of Duluth’s major bragging points and incorporates them into one race. Participants start at the base of Hawk Ridge, taking in the fall colors and Lake Superior views that Skyline Parkway has to offer. A run created to empower women, and to cheer them on while they are celebrated. “Bridging the Gap” is a metaphor for the pay, accessibility and other gaps women face. The Entrepreneur Fund (501c3) and Women’s Business Alliance created the Bridging the Gap Fund. A portion of the proceeds go to this fund that provides women with resources to build and grow sustainable businesses. Participants can take turns leading donkeys while learning facts about them and the Amity Creek trail. Out and Active is a monthly group for outdoor adventures for LGBTQ+ individuals and families. These all-ages, beginner-level outings meet once a month in or around Duluth for a range of activities including hiking, donkey walks, paddling, climbing, dogsledding and more.
