Three musicians will perform in concert: Stas Venglevski on accordion, Derek Bromme on tuba and Brett Jones on percussion. The hour-long program includes the world premiere of “Footprints” by Mayako Kubo, written for accordion solo and dedicated to Stas Venglevski; “Witch of November” by Ian Deterling for tuba and marimba; and music by Johann Sebastian Bach, William Susman, Astor Piazzolla, Nikita Mndoyants and Stas Venglevski. The Finnish American brass band Ameriikan Poijat (Boys of America) will perform a benefit fundraiser concert for the Finlandia Foundation Northland. The band has traveled widely, with performances in most Midwestern states, Pennsylvania, Colorado, Canada and Finland. The band has released six CD recordings and published some of its performance sheet music. The program will consist of a mixture of concert and dance music.
