William A. Irvin 5K 2025
Event Navigation
The 31st annual William A. Irvin 5K kicks off a weekend of running events and festivities surrounding Grandma’s Marathon.
Planned construction on Harbor Drive has forced organizers to rethink the 3.1-mile racecourse and start time for 2025. The race will start at 1 p.m. instead of the traditional time of 6 p.m., and the new route will take participants on Canal Park Drive and underneath a finish structure that will be set up for the following day’s events, Grandma’s Marathon and the Garry Bjorklund Half Marathon.
The participation fee for runners is $50. The race sold out in October, with 2,500 people registered. Those who missed out can still register through one of the event’s official 2025 Charity Partners. Upon reaching a fundraising goal — which is set by each organization — participants will receive a free entry into the 2025 Grandma’s Marathon event of their choice. Approximately 750 total race entries are available through charity partners, though availability will vary by organization.
