Weeding, Planting and Mulching at the Library
Event Navigation
The Duluth Community Garden Program is partnering with the Duluth Public Library to replant their neglected outdoor area with native pollinator species, fruiting and medicinal plant varieties that serve the public as educational tools, ecologically benefit wildlife in the area, and add to the aesthetic atmosphere.
Attendees can pull out old plants and weeds and finish planting native varieties and mulching. There will be some pots available for attendees to take home plants, but participants can also bring their own. There are currently hostas and other shade-tolerant perennials. Sandwiches, chips and water are available as a refreshment break halfway through.
The library is aiming to get at least 30 volunteers signed up, which can be down by following the link here: www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0e4ea8a729a0f5cf8-love2#/ Email haley@duluthcommunitygarden with questions.
This event is made possible with funding from Love your Block and Lloyd K Johnson Foundation.
