Warming Center Ribbon Cutting

The Housing and Redevelopment Authority of Duluth, along with the Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce, will hold a ribbon cutting at the Lincoln Park Community Center to celebrate the completion of the Warming Center for people experiencing homelessness during winter months. This near half-million dollar project was made possible by city of Duluth Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act Emergency Solution Grants funding.
The warming center will be open at its new location beginning Feb. 7. Hours of operation are 6 p.m. to 8 a.m. seven days per week from Nov. 1 to April 1. Additional hours may be added during dangerous, cold weather conditions.
The general contractor for this project was Max Gray Construction. Subcontractors used included: Central Sheetmetal Works, Modern Mechanical, Balanced Out, Neumann Insulation, Contract Tile, Duluth Electrical Contracting, Schaefer Acoustics and Lake Superior Painting. Other contractors on site included All-City Elevator and UHL. LHB was the architectural and engineering firm designing and overseeing the project.
