Twin Ports Festival of History 2023: Two Harbors Day at the Depot
Event Navigation
The Lake County Historical Society, Two Harbors Public Library and the Dorothy Molter Museum join to celebrate local history as part of the second annual Twin Ports History Fest. The Duluth and Iron Range Railroad Museum Gallery will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The museum is one of three historic sites managed by the Lake County Historical Society. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Duluth Missabe & Iron Range Depot was built in 1907 as company headquarters and passenger Depot. While the last passenger train departed the Depot in 1969, the North Shore Scenic Railroad has been running the Two Harbors turn to the depot since the mid 1990s.
The second annual Twin Ports Festival of History runs March 30 to April 4 at multiple venues in Duluth and Superior and features lectures, tours and more. The event aims to provide those with an interest in history an opportunity to listen and discuss topics with authors and historians of local, regional, national and international renown.
The event is sponsored by the UMD Public History and Museum Studies Programs and multiple heritage organizations.
The full schedule of daily events and their locations is available on the Twin Ports Festival of History webpage.
