Studio Oil Painting with Matt Kania

This class teaches the methods and skills of oil painting in a studio environment. It is designed for beginners and intermediate painters. The focus is on direct observation, composition, color mixing, and ways to develop a painting while working from still life and the human figure. Matt Kania instructs, demonstrates and works with individual students and their paintings.

The four sessions are held on Tuesdays, Feb. 1, 8, 15 and 22. The cost is $140 for Duluth Art Institute members and $140 for non-members. Register online at duluthartinstitute.org.

If rescheduling is necessary due to bad weather, the class will meet on the following Thursday of each week.

Proof of vaccination is required to participate in this class. On the first day of class students must present their vaccine card or a copy of it and a form of identification. Masks will be required.
