Event Navigation

The St. Louis River Alliance is seeking volunteers to help handle non-local invasive species (such as spotted knapweed and possibly tansy) in the piping plover nesting area and other targeted areas on Wisconsin Point’s bird sanctuary. If the wind and weather cooperate, the group will be managing the invasives by burning them on site.

Participants are encouraged to email Mikayla at [email protected] if they are interested in helping at one or both of the two pull days so there are enough tools to go around. Gloves, buckets and contracting bags will be provided. Volunteers should bring their own equipment and/or materials if they have them. No prior experience is needed. Safety and plant identification will be provided. Bending, pulling, burning and digging are part of the management plan and will require physical movement to complete.
