Olivier Messiaen composed this historic and iconic work while he was imprisoned at a German work camp during World War II. Using the musicians and instruments at hand, Messiaen a Catholic mystic composed what he thought would be his final piece. It was performed for the first time in the camp for the guards and prisoners. Join Erin Aldridge, violin, Byron Klimek, cello, Ted Schoen, clarinet and Teresa Vaughan piano as they recreate that historic performance.
