Removal of Tansy and Spotted Knapweed on Wisconsin Point

The St. Louis River Alliance is looking for volunteers for a cleanup day at the Piping Plover Habitat Site on Wisconsin Point. Participants are encouraged to email [email protected] if interested on coming one or two days to ensure there are enough tools. Come as long or as little as you’d like.
Non local invasive species such as spotted knapweed and tansy will be removed in the piping plover nesting and foraging areas.
Gloves, buckets and contracting bags will be provided. Please bring your own equipment/materials if you have them. No prior experience needed. There will be safety and plant identification instruction.
Bring water, sun hat, sunglasses, gardening or leather gloves, 5-gallon bucket (if you have any) kneeling pad, snack, sunscreen, bug spray, long socks and clothing protection from bugs and vegetation with thorns, poison ivy, etc.
