Raptor Viewing and Stargazing
Event Navigation
Watch many raptors and other birds soar overhead while learning about the importance of dark skies for their safe migration. In the evening, join Starry Skies North president Todd Burlet for naked-eye stargazing then search for good and bad lighting in the Twin Ports from our overlook. Learn simple things we can all do to protect birds and wildlife from light pollution.
This event is a part of the annual Celebrate the Night Sky Week. Throughout the world our night skies are becoming brighter due to overuse and poorly designed outdoor lighting. We are losing the night and all of the important benefits of dark skies. This week offers opportunities to explore and celebrate the awe of our night sky and the work being done to keep it dark — a full list of events can be viewed here.
