Public Meeting Regarding the Reconditioning of Third Street

The city of Duluth hosts this public meeting regarding the reconditioning of Third Street between Mesaba Avenue and 12th Avenue East. The meeting is to gather the public’s feedback for the project and to view the current project concept.
The meeting will be held in the Central Hillside Center Classroom.
The design and engineering of the project will take place in 2022, with construction scheduled for 2023. Funding for the project will come from Municipal State Aid for Street and Federal funds. The scope of work for the project includes:
- Street resurfacing and concrete repairs.
- Traffic signal study and recommendations.
- Spot storm, curb, and gutter replacement.
- Pedestrian improvements, including adding ADA-compliant curb ramps.
- Multimodal improvements for cyclists and other lightweight human and electric-powered devices.
The public meeting will begin with a brief overview of the project, followed by a participant input round and a question and answer session.
