Proctor-area Memorial Day Observance

The 102nd annual Proctor Memorial Day observance and program, sponsored by the Proctor American Legion Post 106, begins at 9:30 a.m. outside of the Proctor Community Center. The observance will be held inside if there is inclement weather.
The keynote speaker will be United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Division Chief Dave Anderson. Tom Meadath from the McConnell-Modeen VFW Post 137 will also speak.
Sixty Proctor area service members will be honored for giving their lives defending the country as members of the armed forces. A locomotive bell will ring once for each name read.

The master of ceremony will be Jake Benson and the St. Rose Men’s Club will provide donuts following the program.
Following the Proctor program, the American Legion Honor Guard will visit the six-area cemeteries to salute the departed.
