Piping Plover Project Intro and Invasive Species Removal
Event Navigation
St. Louis River Alliance project lead Tonia Kittelson gives an overview of the Piping Plover Project and discusses habitat features necessary for Piping Plover nesting. There will be time for discussion and questions. Attendees are welcome to also remove invasive species and responsibly harvest milkweed seed (if it is ready), mullein and evening primrose. Wear appropriate layers and bring water and gloves.
Instructions to site: travel out to Wisconsin Point via Moccasin Mike Rd., left on Wisconsin Pt. Rd. Travel down into the old pine forest and, just after passing the Native American burial ground site on the right, there will be a slight pull-off on the left. Kittelson will meet attendees at the parking area.
