The 17th annual Northeastern Mojakka Cook-Off will be held at the Historic Northeastern Hotel on Dunlap Island in Cloquet. To sign up for cooking a favorite soup and to enter the contest to win the People’s Choice medallion, participants should call Bert Whittington at 218-879-3312. Any kind of soup will be accepted. There will be a $25 stipend for cooks to help cover the cost of ingredients that will be given on the day of the event.
At least ten different homemade soups will be available for voting to win the people’s choice award.
Advanced tickets are available at Carlton County Historical Society or at the Northeastern for $9 or $10 at the door.
