MLK Gathering and March 2025

The Martin Luther King Jr. March starts with a gathering in the Washington Center gym. The Family Freedom Center will have activities for marchers who will leave for the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center at about 11 a.m.
The march proceeds southbound on Lake Avenue from Third Street to Superior Street, then continues westbound on Superior Street from Lake Avenue to approximately Third Avenue West. Marchers enter the Skywalk system near Wells Fargo Bank and proceed to the DECC via the Northwest Passage. The march finishes at approximately noon.
Traffic is not allowed on Lake Avenue between Third Street and Superior Street or in the driving lanes of Superior Street from Lake Avenue to Third Avenue West when marchers are present. Rolling street closures continually change as the march progresses and should create only brief road closures. All roads re-open by noon.
Drivers are asked to be patient and use caution when driving in the area of the march, and to remain alert to increased pedestrian traffic and police officers directing traffic.
