Minnesota Model Railroaders Event

The Minnesota Free-mo Modelers, a group of model railroad enthusiasts, are setting up the largest HO-scale model railroad at the St. Louis County Depot’s Great Hall. Each person in the club designs a piece of a huge jigsaw puzzle train layout that is assembled in Duluth once a year. HO or “half-O” is a rail transport modelling scale using a 1:87 scale.

Lake Superior Railroad Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the three days of the Free-Mo Modelers event, and North Shore Scenic Railroad will have excursion trains operating. The model event in the Great Hall is free; Lake Superior Railroad Museum admission is $14 for adults and $7 for children ages 3-13. Visit duluthtrains.com for schedules and to purchase tickets.

A swap meet will be held in the Lake Superior Railroad Museum in correspondence with this event.
