Michael Gulezian and Billy McLaughlin
Event Navigation
Fingerstyle acoustic guitarists Billy McLaughlin and Michael Gulezian share the Sacred Heart stage for this rare, one-night-only double bill.
For decades, Billy McLaughlin astounded audiences around the world with his complex and rhythmic acoustic guitar music.
At the height of his international recording and touring career, Billy was diagnosed with Focal Dystonia, a mysterious and yet-to-be-cured neuromuscular disorder that rendered him unable to play. But Billy did the unthinkable: He learned to play his complex music with the opposite hand. Now a Minnesota music treasure, McLaughlin continues to create his own original work and shine a light on the classics.
Michael Gulezian is one of the most highly acclaimed solo acoustic instrumental guitarists of our time. He’s a phenomenal technical guitarist with the rare ability to transcend his own virtuosity, creating music that touches and moves people at the deepest level. He is often compared to musicians such as Leo Kottke and Michael Hedges – guitarists who amaze us with what ten fingers and one guitar can do.
E-Tickets will be available for $25 at 10am Tuesday, Feb. 28. Paper tickets will be available at Globe News in Superior and Zenith Bookstore in West Duluth. Tickets will be available at the door for $30 while supply lasts. Doors are at 6:30 p.m. with music at 7:30.
