Wed, Jan 29, 5:30 pm | $72 | Duluth Folk School

Event Navigation

“Make Your Own Cold Process Soap” is a class that teachs students how to make a 2-pound batch of soap (about 8-10 bars) using the cold press method.

Registration Includes:
You’ll go home with a 2 pound batch of soap made entirely by you! This translates to about 8-10 bars of soap, once it’s cut. You’ll have the chance to choose your own color and scent from the beneficial herbs, clays, and essential oils provided by the instructor. You will also leave with a simple-to-follow recipe, and knowledge of how to source your own ingredients.

Students should bring:
Everything brought must be stainless steel, glass or silicone because the lye used to create the soap reaction will eat away at anything else.

Stainless steel pan (at least 2 quart)
Stirring Utensil (I prefer silicone spatulas)
Stainless steel mixing bowl (holds at least 8 cups)
1 whisk (stainless or silicone)
Eye protection/goggles
Handkerchief or mask to cover nose and mouth
Thick rubber gloves (cleaning type)

Skill level::
This class is for anyone

Best for Ages:
13 and older
