National Farmers Market Week Celebration at Lincoln Park Farmers Market
Event Navigation
Minnesotans are invited to celebrate the bounty of the harvest season during National Farmers’ Market Week, Aug. 4-10. The Minnesota Department of Agriculture and the Minnesota Department of Health — in partnership with the Minnesota Farmers’ Market Association, Minnesota Grown, Minnesota Farmers Union and Land Stewardship Project — are recognizing the week with an event at the Lincoln Park Farmers’ Market in Duluth.
Activities at the Lincoln Park celebration will include shopping with more than 25 local vendors, live music, family-friendly activities, giveaways, a free community meal and presentations from dignitaries including Commissioner of Health Dr. Brooke Cunningham. Festivities will start as the market opens at 3 p.m. and culminate with the community meal.
Lincoln Park Farmers Market, organized by Community Action Duluth’s Seeds of Success, is open every Thursday during the summer. It features fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, eggs, flowers, canned goods, honey, crafts, soap and other items.
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program participants using an electronic benefits transfer card at the market can receive an extra $25 in matching market bucks when they swipe their EBT card for $15. The Power of Produce Club provides children under 18 and elders over age 60 with $4 each market in tokens to be spent on fresh produce.
Seeds of Success is an urban agriculture and transitional employment program of Community Action Duluth that focuses on food access, neighborhood revitalization and creating transitional jobs for local job seekers who face barriers to employment.
