The 85th annual Laskiainen Finnish Festival in Palo, about 40 miles north of Duluth, is also known as the Finnish Sliding Festival. It features food, games and a lot of sliding. Also: vendors, live music on Sunday by Monroe Crossing, a pancake breakfast and more.
