The inaugural Lake Superior Jazz Festival is a weekend of live music in Lutsen featuring a performance on Nov. 5 by Adonis Rose and the NOJO 7. The NOJO 7 is a seven-piece version of the 20-piece New Orleans Jazz Orchestra, led by artistic director Rose.
Also on Nov. 5, Twin Cities-based Gypsy Mania “Hot Club” Swing Jazz Band will play at the Summit Chalet at Lutsen Mountains at 1 p.m. For the price of a Summit Express gondola ticket, attendees will get to enjoy a scenic ride up to the top of Moose Mountain with live music at the Chalet.
On Friday, Nov. 4, Minnesota Jazz acts the Southside Aces and the Andrew Walesch Orchestra will perform on the Papa Charlie’s stage, following a jazz dinner with Brilliant Colors Jazz Trio at Lutsen Resort.
The festival schedule will be capped off with a jazz brunch featuring Grand Portage jazz guitarist and musician Briand Morrison.
Single-day tickets are $28; two-day tickets are $40.
