Juneteenth Celebration 2023
Event Navigation
The Duluth branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People presents its 49th annual Juneteenth jubilee, honoring and celebrating the holiday with free food, family fun, local vendors, community resources, music, prizes and more.
Juneteenth is American holiday that commemorates the June 19, 1865 abolition of slavery. This celebration is both an opportunity to acknowledge the history of slavery and the affect it continues to have today, as well as an opportunity to work for progress toward a community of freedom.
All communities are invited to explore outside of their norms and step out and be a part of this celebration, either as volunteers or as participants.
With innovation and creativity, the NAACP is expanding; welcoming new members, new ideas, and tactics to make its Duluth Branch more extensive and efficient. Its mission is to reduce systemic racism while educating about culutural history and preparing for the future.
