Jeff Halper on Israel and Palestine

Hibbing native Jeff Halper delivers a talk concerning the situation in Israel and Palestine and the potential for a one-state solution. Halper is an Israeli-American anthropologist, director of the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions, and a founding member of the Palestine-led One Democratic State Campaign.
Halper has served on the United Nations Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People. In 2008, he sailed into Gaza with the Free Gaza Movement to break the Israeli siege. He was also nominated by the American Friends Service Committee for the Nobel Peace Prize together with the Palestinian intellectual and activist Ghassan Andoni. He has written several books on Israel and Palestine.
During July, Halper will be delivering talks in the Twin Cities and Northfield, sponsored by groups including Woman Against Military Madness and Middle East Peace Now.
