JAM Concert Series: Owls Club Big Band

The Owls Club Big Band officially hatched late in 2016 and took the name of the band’s inaugural concert venue where the band of Duluth musicians is based, The Duluth Owls Club. The 17 or so musicians comprising the ensemble are devotees of helping the ladies and gentlemen looking back at them from the floor find the exitencial center of Saturday night, no matter which night of the week it is.
The Owls Club Big Band will be Joined by two other professional bands for this performance.
The JAM Concert Series is held during the month of April because April is Jazz Appreciation Month. Concerts are held twice a week at various venues around Duluth. One concert features a small jazz ensemble that will play a 50 min set and then a jam session commences where everyone is invited to play, especially students. The other concert consists of a local high school’s big band, followed by either a collegiate big band or a jazz combo, and then the night concludes with a local professional Big Band.
