Introduction to Spoon Carving

A three-hour introduction to the craft of greenwood spoon carving. Students finish the class with their own hand-carved serving spoon. For the first part of class, students study safety, knife grips and traditional techniques for carving. For the rest of the class, students apply what they have learned to transform the spoon blank provided into their completed spoon.
