Intro to Flat Water Kayaking

This half-day course is a safe and fun introduction to kayaking in primarily flat water environments. Get oriented with boat and body position, efficient stroke technique to reduce fatigue, strategies for keeping your boat upright and what to do if you tip. This event is for ages 12 and older. Youth under 12 may paddle with an adult chaperone in the boat with them.

All sea kayaking and safety equipment, cold water immersion wear, instruction will be provided. Participants need to bring a swim suit, towel, full water bottle, close-toed shoes or neoprene booties that will get wet, sunglasses with strap, optional sun hat, sun screen and change of dry clothes for after the course.
