Following two intertwining love stories– that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of immortal King Hades and Lady Persephone– Hadestown invites audiences on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back. The tale, while tragic, is a testament to the power of love and the lengths one would go to for it. Their journey, filled with hope, despair, and longing, is one that resonates with many, reminding us of the fragility of love and the external forces that often test it.
Inspired by a post-apocalyptic New Orleans French Quarter-style setting and infused with Blues, Jazz, Dixieland and modern American folk music, Hadestown is spellbinding for any age group and its score is as infectious as they come. This show is a testament to the fact that while times change, the essence of humanity, our fears, desires, and battles, remain constant.
Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students, and can be purchased at the door with check or cash only starting at 6 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 for general seating.
