Duluth Running Company’s 18th annual Thanksgiving race event, Gobble Gallop, features the Tough Turkey 1-mile run, Gobble Gallop 5k run/walk and the Gobble Giddy Up quarter-mile kid’s run.
The first of the three races starts at 9 a.m. All races will start and finish on London Road near the Rose Garden at 12th Avenue East. The longest race runs west on London Road to Superior Street, west on Superior Street to Fifth Avenue West, and returns on the same course.

9:10 a.m. – Start of Tough Turkey 1 Mile
9:30 a.m. – Start of Gobble Gallop 5K
10:30 a.m. – Awards Ceremony

Parking restrictions begin at 7 a.m. on London Road from 10th to 14th avenues east and on Superior Street from 10th Avenue East to 4th Avenue West. Vehicles parked in the no parking zones after 7 a.m. will be ticketed and towed.
London Road will close at 7:30 a.m. from 10th to 14th avenues east for race setup and the Kid’s Run. Superior Street will close at 8:45 a.m. from Fifth Avenue West to 12th Avenue East for the 1-mile and 5K races.
Eastbound Superior Street traffic will be detoured at 6th Avenue West to Second Street to continue east. Westbound traffic will be detoured at 12th Avenue East to Third Street to continue west.
Lake Avenue will close at Superior Street during the races. Access to Canal Park, Park Point, and the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center will be from Fifth Avenue West to Railroad Street, and from I-35 exits at Lake Ave and Fifth Avenue West.
Downtown traffic should return to normal by approximately 10:30 a.m. The Duluth Police Department is asking drivers to use caution when in the area of this event.
