Foraging Hike
Event Navigation
This plant walk focuses on wild edible plants in a variety of habitats at the University of Minnesota-Duluth Land Lab farm. The hike is guided by conservation biologist and wild edible instructor Sarah Foltz Jordan. The group discusses dozens of exceptional wild food plants in the region, along with creative ways to incorporate them into a diet in a meaningful way. Both native and introduced plants are covered. This event is co-hosted by the Arrowhead Native Plant Explorers and Sustainable Farming Association: Lake Superior chapter.
This event includes easy hiking along gravel roads and trails at the University of Minnesota-Duluth Land Lab farm. Hosts encourage attendees to plan for rainy summer conditions, and all the insects that come along. Some off-trail walking is expected.
The hike is free for members, or $10 for non-member.
