Duluth Loves Local presents the eighth annual Duluth Winter Village, a two-day outdoor winter market. More than 50 local businesses will be set up in 26 festive wooden cabins outside the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center and inside Pioneer Hall with curated goods for sale.
A few items of note this year include:
- Portrait artist on Saturday only
- “The Tinsel Tavern,” a holiday-themed experiential bar featuring Vikre Distillery
- Makers tent and blacksmith
- Sensory area to provide respite from the excitement by the Student Occupational Therapy Association
- 360 video booth on Saturday only
- Indoor skating in the Duluth Arena with free skate rentals, featuring DJ music on both days from 3 to 4 p.m.
- Hollybeary Kid Store is back with more shopping options for littles to pick out for their grown-ups
- Face painting on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Animals, live caroling, 25-foot-lit tree
- Small children and nursing area by the Duluth Mom
- Hug-a-Hen by Locally Laid Egg Company
The Duluth Winter Village is unique from other area markets in that the vendors are all local businesses with retail locations around northern Minnesota. Participants include Bailey Builds, Altered Abode, Y-ker Acres, Hucklebeary, Frost River, the Rainbow Room, NaturaLight, The Big Lake, Wintergreen Northern Wear, Lake Superior Art Glass, Ivy Moon and the Moon Market.
Food is available from DECC Catering, Yes Cheese, Love Creamery, Positively Third Street Bakery, Hungry Hippie Tacos, Duluth’s Best Bread, Scenic 61 by New Scenic Cafeì, TBSP Waffles and more. Craft beer is available near the Yule Hall, along with themed cocktails at the bar made with Vikre spirits and other local favorites.
Live animals and fire pits are also part of the festivities. The Duluth East Choralaires sing carols on Saturday.
