Duluth Explorers Club: “Our Rocky Marriage”
Event Navigation
The Duluth Explorers Club is back and kicking off this winter season with Duluth climbing couple Karina and Taylor Krosbakken speaking about their adventurous lives together in a presentation called “Our Rocky Marriage.” They will explain the highs of climbing mountains and rocky crags around the globe and the lows of the challenges of living in a state where the highpoint is actually a hill.
Taylor and Karina are fixtures of both the Duluth and Midwest climbing scene. They have been climbing together since 2006 and have been life partners since 2007. Both are currently board members of the Duluth Climbers Coalition, and Karina is very active with the North Shore VertiGals, a climbing group exclusively for women and girls. Both have climbed, traveled, and adventured extensively, together and separately. However, there’s nothing rocky about this relationship. They’ve made it work despite having similar and different goals, strengths, time and career restrictions.
For five years during the “before times” the Duluth Climbers Coalition and Vikre Distillery collaborated to create a monthly forum for local adventurers and others with a unique story, perspective, or travels to regale and inspire. The Duluth Climbers Coalition is excited to announce the return of the Duluth Explorers Club, but having outgrown the distillery, we are moving to Spirit Mountain and their adjoining bar and restaurant.
