Featuring Mina Kaiser, Edward Martin and Phillip Rukavina. This program of Spanish Renaissance music features the works of Ortiz, Cabezon, Escobar, Encina (and the ubiquitous Anonymous) arranged for vihuela trio and performed with variations (or “diferencias”) created by Mina Kaiser. While none of these pieces were originally published in this particular instrumentation, the practice of arranging and performing on the vihuela works intended for other instruments was widely accepted at the time.
The concert will be held in Tower Hall room 3625 (the St. Scholastica Music Hall).
