Despair, Blasphemy and the Hardened Heart with Dr. Ashley Comstock

Medieval Christian thinkers almost uniformly affirm that there is some action or state of mind that cannot, or will not, be divinely forgiven.

This presentation examines common threads in influential Medieval Christian descriptions of this most serious form of wrongdoing, in an attempt to better understand Medieval Christian accounts of under-studied vices and sins like despair, blasphemy and hardness of heart. This event will be held in the Raven Room at the St. Scholastica Library.
