Celebrate Jolabokaflod at Duluth Public Library
Event Navigation
Celebrate winter reading and the gifting season with Jolabokaflod at the Main Library! Jolabokaflod is an Icelandic word (meaning holiday book flood) and tradition that originated during World War II. Paper was one of the few unrationed commodities during the war, making books one of the few gifts available during the winter holidays. The tradition lives on and the Duluth Public Library invites you to join in!
Cozy up with a book in our quiet community reading space in the Gold Room and stop by the Green Room for seasonal crafts suitable for any age. From 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Nordic Center Duluth will share seasonal songs and stories in a presentation about Nordic culture.
There will be coffee, cocoa, and free booklights for participants, while supplies last!
