Beyond the Market: Housing For All Panel Forum
Event Navigation
Homelessness is chronic and worsening in Minnesota, yet we have a multi-billion dollar state budget surplus. At the same time, low and middle income people are having an increasingly hard time with housing, with ever rising home prices, rising rents, increasing evictions, and the proliferation of high-cost luxury apartments. Simultaneously, “we are facing a climate crisis, with a need for new homes to meet high efficiency standards, and almost all older homes to be refurbished.”
The Unitarian Universalist Church conducts a panel of local housing experts and advocates for a discussion about “what we can do, and what kind of demands we should be making of our city, county, and state governments.” Featuring AICHO Director LeAnn Littlewolf, CHUM street outreach worker and homelessness advocate Deb Holman, HRA Commissioner Andrea Hanek, and Green New Deal Housing Co-Founder Rachel Wagner. Refreshments are provided. Visit the Facebook event for the Zoom link to join remotely (included shortly before the start of the event).
