Beginner Spinning Wheel

Participants in this three-hour Duluth Folk School class will learn to spin wool fiber and make yarn with a spinning wheel.

The class covers:
– Basic principles of the spinning wheel
– Wool characteristics and how to draft wool
– Spinning a ‘single’ yarn
– Winding yarn off on a niddy-noddy
– Learning to make a 2-ply yarn (if time permits)

Several ounces of fiber will be provided to spin and participants will take home the skein of yarn they spin during the class.
