Author Event: Chris La Tray

Zenith Bookstore will host Chris La Tray who will present his powerful debut memoir Becoming Little Shell: A Landless Indian’s Journey Home. The book combines the story of the Little Shell Chippewa Tribe, the most recent tribe to receive federal recognition from the U.S. government, the history of the Métis people, and La Tray’s own search to find a place with them. Chris La Tray is a Métis storyteller, a descendent of the Pembina Band of the mighty Red River of the North and an enrolled member of the Little Shell Tribe of Chippewa Indians. He is also the Montana Poet Laureate.

This event is free and open to the public and will include a reading, conversation, audience Q&A and book signing to follow.
