Annual Plant Foray

Learn how to collect and press plants to contribute to an understanding of biodiversity in our region. We’ll meet at Lester Park and explore the surrounding Amity and Lester Creeks and trails. No experience necessary. This is a fun way to socialize with other plant enthusiasts and take part in a centuries long tradition of collecting plant specimens for teaching, documenting plant populations, and storing genetic material. Bring a lunch or snack to eat while pressing plants. No registration necessary. Contact [email protected] if you have questions.

Location is Lester Park. Use the parking lot on Lester River Road. Look for the Arrowhead Native Plant Explorers banner and signs. This event will include moderate hiking along the mowed and gravel trails and some off trail exploration at your own comfort level. Prepare for mosquitos and ticks. Please refrain from bringing pets to this event to respect the sensitive plants within this community.
