All-BIPOC Snowshoe/Hike
Event Navigation
The Superior Hiking Trail Association, in partnership with BIPOC Outdoors Twin Ports, is offering a snowshoeing and hiking series for people of color. Whether snowshoeing or hiking happens depends on snow levels. Hike difficulty level is moderate, or 3.4 miles with 400 feet of elevation gain or loss.
People who self-identify as Black, Indigenous or a person of color can register by contacting BIPOC Outdoors Twin Ports via email at bipocoutdoorstp @ gmail.com. For more information about what to expect, what gear is needed, or where to get gear, see the FAQ.
The session also includes outdoor skill principles like “leave no trace” and winter safety so that you leave with a deeper knowledge of how to move through winter conditions best equipped.
Hikes include several breaks along the way for participants to catch their breath and learn more about the environments around them. Hot beverages and light snacks provided.
