AICHO’s Indigenous Food and Art Market
Event Navigation
The American Indian Community Housing Organization is hosting local food and art vendors in the parking lot at Central Hillside Community Center (One Roof Housing parking lot). At this market there will be two live demos: a cooking demo from North American Traditional Indigenous Food Systems and a live painting of the market by artist Michelle Defoe.
Entrepreneurs will be selling items such as garden-grown produce, frozen meats, smoked white fish, wild rice, fermented foods, Indigenous teas, maple syrup, jams and jellies, herbs, honey, wild rice cupcakes, salves and cannabidiol products. Artwork on sale includes prints, apparel, beadwork, jewelry and more.
Anamakaageg! Everyone is welcome. SNAP/EBT benefits are accepted.
AICHO’s Food & Art Markets are funded by the Statewide Health Improvement Partnership of Minnesota.
In the case of inclement weather the market will move to the Dr. Robert Powless Cultural Center at 212 W. Second St. The decision to move will be made on Fridays before and posted on AICHO’s Facebook page. Parking will be located at the former Lake Superior College Downtown Campus parking lots, across from AICHO in the big sand lot on Second Street (near Arrowhead Place Building) and in the small paved lot across Second Avenue West near the downtown campus building.
