After School Art Club with Growing Little Loves
Event Navigation
After School Art Club is a child-led process art class with a bit of sensory mixed in, too. Artists explore different art and sensory offerings at their own pace, freely choosing which stations to engage in. Each artist has the opportunity to create a unique piece of process art (the focus is on the experience of creating versus the end result) with materials presented as an “art bar” (like salad bar, but with art materials). Collaborative art projects may also be presented to artists. Self-expression, creativity and choices are celebrated by the host. Attendees are encouraged to wear clothes that are okay to get messy.
The cost of $25 per student includes all supplies. An adult should plan to stay on-site during the class.
Facilitator Alison Kilpo has an M.A. in Art Therapy. She’s spent nearly ten years aiding and fostering the art process with toddlers to adults, and people of all ages. Alison has been the coordinator of an art program, provided art therapy groups in a women’s treatment facility and ran groups in an inpatient setting at a local hospital. Currently, she is raising two kiddos while sharing “the love of all things process art” through Growing Little Loves.
