Guests and musicians celebrate the long-awaited debut album from AfroGeode & the Gemstones. This event honors the memory of Diona Johnson (a.k.a. AfroGeode), who passed away last year. The realization and release of this album has been “a heartfelt passion project for both the Gemstones and Diona’s husband, Steve.”
This album includes themes of resilience, love, joy, equality and the power of expression. It aims at “a musical love letter from Diona and the Gemstones to the beautiful humans and communities that inspired and supported them.”
Items that are available for purchase include the album (in vinyl, cassettes and compact discs), and band merchandise.
