Transportation Equity Doc & Talk Series: Driving While Black

Driving While Black: Race, Space and Mobility in America is a documentary film by historian Dr. Gretchen Sorin and Emmy-winning director Ric Burns. The film examines the history of African Americans on the road from the early 1900s through the 1960s and beyond.
There will be a talk about racial profiling and transportation justice in Duluth after the film screening.
Zeitgeist Arts is seeking to connect, educate and advocate around barriers that persist in transportation networks. The Transportation Equity Doc & Talk Series features screenings of documentaries that follow the history of transportation in the United States from buses and bikes to super highways and self-driving cars. A related discussion follows each film.
