9 to 5: The Musical

The Duluth Playhouse closes out its Main Stage season with 9 to 5: The Musical. The hit Broadway show, based on the iconic 1980 movie, is a comedic look at friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era featuring a jubilant score by Dolly Parton. Performances run July 12-28.

The story follows three female coworkers — Violet, Judy, and Doralee — who are fed up with their sexist and egotistical nightmare of a boss, Franklin Hart Jr. Together, they concoct a plan to kidnap Hart, intending to expose his corruption and give their toxic workplace a dream makeover. Their actions lead to a series of comedic, chaotic and ultimately empowering events as they take control of the company that had always kept them down.

There will be an audio description performance with Paul Ranelli on July 13 and a sign language performance with interpreters Rebecca Rick and Emily Engel on July 26.
