Zoo La Palooza 2023

In 1923, Bert E. Onsgard founded the Duluth Zoo with a young white-tailed deer named Billy. One-hundred years later, so much has been achieved in Fairmont Park and the Lake Superior Zoo. Zoo La Palooza is a celebration of the zoo’s centennial birthday.

While the event is free, raffles and other efforts to raise funds help the zoo to accomplish their mission of education and conservation, as well as ensure the Lake Superior Zoo is around for another 100 years.

At the event, attendees can sign Lake Superior Zoo’s birthday card, take tours of their animal care, listen to live music by Babie Eyes, drench local celebrities with a dunk tank, consume food from various food trucks, view a mural reveal by Annmarie Geniusz and more.
