DSSO Masterworks II: Price & Mozart
Event Navigation
The Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra presents works by Florence Price and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
Jacques Ibert wrote his Hommage à Mozart to celebrate the 200th birthday of the great composer. This energetic piece goes hand in hand with the master’s own Symphony No. 36, written for the Austrian city of Linz. In between the DSSO presents the American sounds of Florence Price’s Violin Concerto No.1 and Finnish composer Einojuhani Rautavaara’s Cantus Arcticus, a piece that incorporates recorded bird song into the orchestra.
The will be an encore performance on Oct. 16 at 3 p.m. in the Superior Cathedral of Christ the King Church.
